spectacular views of the Grand Canal

Pamela M.: “Gritti is gorgeous but the Danielli has a mystery to it, a feeling. Stayed there 3 times and once at the Gritti. The Danielli staff are warmer and went out of their way to make all our stays there extra memorable 💜💜.”

Stephen C.: “All great but there is something magical about the Danielli.”

Kris K.:  “Hotel Danieli is my recommendation by far the best! Beautiful hotel and great location.”

Marilyn H.: “I agree. The Danielli is beautiful. Even if you don’t stay there, go have a drink and look at the ceiling!”

Lisa F.: “Hotel Danieli.  The view from our suite….!”

Cintra R.: “Two thumbs up on the Danielli.”

With its heritage setting on Riva Degli Schiavoni, Hotel Danieli dominates the Venetian lagoon with spectacular views of the Grand Canal and islands. Also overlooking the Palazzo Ducale, the hotel just steps away from Ponte Dei Sospiri and Piazza San Marco.
The three palaces which comprise the hotel date from the 14th, 17th, and 19th Centuries: Palazzo Dandolo in Venetian Gothic style, once home to the noble Dandolo family; Palazzo Casa Nuova, previously the city’s treasury; and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, featuring guestrooms with balconies overlooking the lagoon on its upper floors. The three palaces house a rich collection of precious art and antiques that play witness to the city’s history, blended with contemporary comforts to meet the needs of cultured global travelers. Essential to the Danieli experience is its Restaurant Terrazza Danieli and cuisine concept, a magical voyage for the senses which retraces the oriental influences of spice traders and blends them with ingredients from the lagoon.

Dandolo Suite Collection, comprising the Royal Suite inspired after Venice’s 12th century Doge Enrico Dandolo and the Signature Suites celebrating important icons of cinema, opera, and royalty who were all guests of the hotel.

Whether enjoying a sun-drenched lunch on the outdoor terrace or a candle-lit dinner in the sumptuous indoor dining room, the award-winning Restaurant Terrazza Danieli never fails to delight. Boasting the most spectacular views of the “Serenissima”—a magnificent panorama of the Venice Lagoon, the famed Island of San Giorgio, and the tributary of the Grand Canal as it flows into Saint Mark’s basin—the restaurant transports guests back to the heydey of Venice’s influential position as Europe’s crossroads between East and West.

The restaurant serves a masterful menu inspired by Marco Polo’s voyages to the Orient. The result is a fascinating journey marrying the exotic and the local, the eastern influences perfectly balanced with Mediterranean flavors. The menu changes every three months, dictated by the availability of the freshest local ingredients. The definitive Italian influences emerge in local seafood, meat, and pasta dishes, yet are also infused with exotic spices and textures from Asia, India, and the Middle East. Alongside the seasonal menu, our dedicated culinary team also delights their guests with special menus to celebrate local art exhibits, the spectacular Carnivale, and traditional Venetian festivals such as the Redentore.

Restaurant Terrazza Danieli is located on the top floor of our Palazzo Danieli Excelsior with a panoramic view of the lagoon, islands, and the Grand Canal. Enjoy classic Venetian proposals to tastings of the Mediterranean and the Far East. Outdoor dining on the panoramic terrace is available from May to October. Breakfast is served at Restaurant Terrazza Danieli and outdoors on the restaurant’s terrace from May to September, weather permitting.

Inside, an abundance of red velvet pays its homage to the century-old tradition of the Venetian Doge. Long Murano mirrors hang aside intricate classical wall panels, reflecting the candles and Fiori freschi found on every table. Hand blown water tumblers, enveloped in a swirl of red glass, add a note of whimsy to the elegance.

The exceptional wine list offers a wide selection of vintages from around the world, with an emphasis on Italian wineries. Special tastings with local vintners are de rigueur—affording guests a rare taste of Italian terroirs.

a haven surrounded by an authentic Venetian backdrop

Helen L.: “Hotel Indigo Sant’Elena. Stayed here a couple of years ago great hotel & location only 10 mins on the Vaporetto which was easy & fun 😎.”

The lush green Sant’Elena neighbourhood in Venice has the feel of a sleepy Italian village, yet it’s within easy reach of the city’s most famed attractions. Locals go about their lives seemingly oblivious to the tens of millions of holidaymakers who descend upon Venice every year.

In a converted monastery dating back to the 1930s, the Hotel Indigo® Venice – Sant’Elena provides guests with a haven surrounded by an authentic Venetian backdrop — a reprieve from the whirring engine of tourism. Our 75 rooms—including a variety of suites with décor inspired by warm, Byzantine colours, or cooler tones evocative of the sea—are ideally positioned for those in search of an authentic slice of Italian life.

Guests enjoy lovely views over the private garden and Sant’Elena’s delightful alleyways. Their location is prime for art devotees arriving for the Venice Biennale or travellers in need of a break from the city’s more crowded Sestieri, or neighbourhoods.

located in an ancient aristocratic Venetian palace

Brian E D.: “Absolutely the best!! Hotel Ai Reali di Venezia. Worth every $. I don’t have a long list on my “return to” places/hotels but Venice and this hotel are near the top!!!  Their service is beyond superb!!!”

Micki Reuther FF.: “We got the suite when we were there. Overlooked the canals. The concierge called us by name every time we returned and asked about our day. He hooked is up with a glass factory tour, the best 5 Euro we spent. He arranged a taxi that took us through the back ‘streets’. It was really cool to see groceries delivered, the postal service…..incredible!
We WILL be back!!”

Mary Acton M.: “Hotel Ai Reali di Venezia – LOVED this hotel.”

a unique panoramic terrace overlooking the Grand Canal

Mary M.: “We prefer Santa Chiara near cruise port and Hotel Rialto near Rialto Bridge. 4-star great location.”

Agnes Ferguson H.: ” Location close to Bus Station and NO bridges to cross. Great breakfast included.”

Rhonda C.: “Another vote for Santa Chiara. Book a Grand Canal room. Right beside the bus/taxi. We have stayed there 4 times. Friendly staff.”

Hotel Santa Chiara overlooks the Grand Canal, the Train Station, and Piazzale Roma (the only part of Venice reachable by car). It’s also very close to the cruise terminal and a few minutes by car from Marco Polo airport. It is the only hotel in Venice with private parking (on request only)!!! It is a few minute’s walk from San Marco square (or a few minutes by water bus, which stops almost in front of the hotel).

The area is full of attractions, Santa Croce is in the historical center. Facing the Church of the Scalzi and the Church of San Simeon Piccolo, a 10-minute walk from the hotel there are museums (natural history museum, the Jewish ghetto, the great school of San Rocco, big school of the Carmini, Ca ‘Rezzonico, etc .. .), churches (San Pantalon, San Simeone, Basilica dei Frari, the church of San Rocco, the church of the Carmini, church of the angel Raffaele …), shops, restaurants and bars of all kinds and for all pockets.

All the services and comforts of the more expensive rooms of the hotel and the same attention and quality of the furnishings, but in a much more affordable package!! All rooms are typically Venitian design classics so be prepared to step back in time with modern comfort.

The hotel has a unique panoramic terrace overlooking the Grand Canal and the northern part of the Lagoon. A place removed from the hustle and bustle of Venice. A quiet corner to relax in at the end of a long day spent roaming the city, enjoying a glass of wine by the lights of the sunset… or a coffee at dawn, should you be the early bird type!

From here you will enjoy 2 of the 4 bridges over the Grand Canal, the Church of San Simeone Piccolo (a neoclassical building dated 1738), the Church of Maria di Nazaret (a Baroque Building dated 1680), and the roofs of San Geremia Church (a Neoclassical building dated 1753).

a few steps from St. Mark’s Square

James H.: “Hotel Ala – Palazzo Maurogonato! We stayed here last July as a pre-cruise before our Adriatic cruise on Constellation. Was wonderful with breakfast included and a 5-minute walk to St Mark’s. 1-minute walk to canal shuttle to the cruise port.”

The hotel is located in the true ancient heart of Venice, in St. Mark’s area. Facing the charming Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, waterbus stop at 50 yards, no bridges to cross.

The location is ideal: in the middle of the action, a few steps from St. Mark’s Square, La Fenice Theater, shopping area, fine restaurants, the Vaporetto (waterbus stop 50 yds), Alilaguna Airport Shuttle (50 yds), gondolas and the Gran Canal.

Don’t miss an evening toast to our Tarnowska’s American Bar where you will meet our Bartender Rey and his awesome Italian-soundly tongue.
The Hotel Ala has been recognized as one of the “Historical Places of Italy” by the Cultural Association under the patronage of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture; we are part of a select group of places that share illustrious historical events of the Unification of Italy.

The rooms are special – designed for your comfort – with all modern amenities, but as very common for most Venetian hotels, very ehhh.. Venetian classic.
Some in a sleek contemporary style and others in an even more traditional classic Venetian mode. But the price is very good.

An ideal place for relaxation in their Root Terrace. So much appreciated by guests, the astonishing roof terrace “Altana” will allow you to admire Venice from above.

You will have views of the Campanile of San Marco, the Basilica Della Salute, and the statues of the highly Baroque Church of Santa Maria del Giglio adjoining our house.

‘You will feel at home at Ala, a unique Hotel run by the Salmaso Family and its selected Staff.’

as elegant as Venice herself

Thomas G.: “🚢⛳️ Splendid Venice part of Starhotels collection
Look upon the internet see rooms and you won’t stay elsewhere.”

Just a few steps from some of the world’s greatest sights, the Splendid Venice is a charming luxury hotel, as elegant as Venice herself. It was first mentioned in the sixteenth century, the heyday of the Republic when it was known as the Black Hat Inn, where Calle Della Regina meets Rio dei Baretteri.

Over time, its various owners have expanded it and turned it into what you see today, two townhouses united in a harmonious ensemble. A place where passion, beauty, and memory come together to create an unforgettable experience.

The spirit of the old inn lives on. You can sense it in the warm, personal welcome and the cozy, intimate public areas – like the lobby, which eschews the classic open design for a succession of small Levantine parlors.

The Splendid Venice exudes an instantly seductive charm, a timeless, nonchalant model of perfection, made of subtle moods and exquisitely thoughtful attention to detail.

The hotel enjoys a central yet quiet location just a short stroll – or gondola ride – from some of the city’s iconic landmarks. There is also a water entrance and private mooring for boats on the Rio dei Baretteri.

The 165 rooms and suites offer Venetian elegance at its finest. Many vaunt wonderful views over the canals and rooftops, the bell towers, and the terraces, called “altanas”. All have luxurious, refined furnishings and exquisite details, where silver, brown, and lilac set the tone for the wallpaper and damask designs that evoke the Serenissima’s textile tradition.

The hotel offers so much more. Like the chance to contemplate Venetian majesty in tranquility. Like the breathtaking views, you can absorb from the hotel’s Altana overlooking the beautiful rooftops and bell towers of this floating city. Drink it all in with a classic Spritz, a Bellini, or an exclusive Laguna cocktail.

Staying at the Splendid Venice means plunging into the Serenissima’s soul at its most authentic. The restaurant promises a gourmet dining experience with an array of authentic Venetian recipes to savor.

The spacious meeting room accommodates up to 35 people in a relaxed, private setting for high-level events and meetings.

From the Les Clefs d’Or Concierge to the 24-hour room service, from the tranquil library to the delightful roof terrace, all our services are carefully crafted to make your stay simply unforgettable.

exclusive setting in the historic heart of Venice

Patty G..: “Dona Palace!! Amazing.”

A classy, elegant, luxury boutique hotel, the Donà Palace is a four-star property overlooking the Rio at the Doge’s Palace with its famous Bridge of Sighs, just a few steps from Europe’s largest drawing-room, Saint Mark’s Square

The Hotel Donà Palace’s exclusive setting in the historic heart of Venice is favoured for its privileged position. Though close to so many important Venetian landmarks, the hotel’s luxurious lodgings and accommodation have a refreshingly intimate quiet ambience, blending perfectly with the reflecting warmth of Venetian gothic design.

Once the residence of the Doge Donà, this 14th-century palazzo, underwent a three year period of extensive restoration when the Hotel Donà Palace reopened in 2004. The facade conserves the original inset windows with their filigree arches known as “quadrifore”. The splendour of the marbles and woodwork were left untouched to preserve the charm and the characteristic architectonic details. The result is a beauty, purely Venetian, which can be glimpsed in many of the older building on the city’s canals. Here for centuries, prominent Venetian families manifested their wealth with lavish ornate palazzi. From the heart of the city’s historic district to the pulse of the best shopping paradise, the Hotel Donà Palace is captivating and exceeds expectations.

With the grand St Mark’s square and the Doge’s Palace, only 50 metres distant, the Hotel Donà Palace has the perfect setting in the historical centre of Venice.

To its more demanding guests, Hotel Dona Palace will offer, in the Executive Suites and Royal Suites, unrepeatable moments of precious relaxation in their rooms all featuring a unique and sophisticated style.
