Sustainable Hotel in Copenhagen

Does animal welfare, sustainability, clean water for everyone, inspiring and healthy surroundings mean as much to you as it does to them?

At this new hotel, Bryggen Guldsmeden, they have put their money where their mouth is, and created what they choose to call Denmark’s most accomplished sustainable luxury hotel!

With 212 rooms on the corner of Artillerivej and Gullfossgade, furnished and decorated in the unique Guldsmedens signature Nordics-meet-Bali style, in the amazing area of Islands Brygge – “Bryggen” is a particularly charming area in itself, and is at the same time within walking distance to Tivoli and the Central Station – they see Bryggen as the Brooklyn of Copenhagen!

They offer great introductory prices for everyone: enjoy a night in a four-poster bed from 595 DKK per night, and enjoy the signature breakfast if you have the time – they have cut the rates here as well, so you can fill up for only 135 DKK per person.

Sustainability

Bryggen Guldsmeden offers super sustainable and innovative luxury, just see a selection of our initiatives below ?:

You can sleep in a four-poster bed with an extra clean conscience because the mattresses, duvets, and pillows have built-in animal welfare, filled with wool from happy, lovingly brushed camels? and sheep? – and they´re allergy-friendly!

All the textiles – from bed linen to towels, our beautiful kimonos? and everything else, are made from sustainable eco- and recycled materials.

Their fantastic showers not only guarantee a steady flow of perfectly temperate water but save between 50 and 90% of water consumption, thanks to a special NASA technology originally developed for the Mars mission?– this is a must-try!

The signature breakfast is, as always, organic AND sustainable, abounding with all the favorites side by side with surprising, healthy, and delicious touches, and of course with bubbles on the side ?.

The refillable water bottles for tap water, which you can take with you to experience everything that Copenhagen has to offer, are like the first bottles in the world made of 100% recycled food-approved plastic.

The wonderful iLoveEcoEssentials products are available in all rooms, delicious and sustainable down to the smallest detail, and addictive as all-get-out!

The restaurant, Sole Factory, offers a variety of classics and signature dishes, something for everyone – of course all organic (98,5%) and/or sustainable.

Luxurious simplicity, warm hospitality, an unpretentious atmosphere, and uncompromising sustainability are Guldsmeden Hotels´ guiding principles since the first opening in Aarhus in 1999.

Colorful comeback in a former university: about growing up and the conflict between reason and passion

What a true hidden gem!

Ann P.:” Top hotel .. very trendy .. very friendly, quiet, nice bar and restaurants. Room 323 with a view of the inner garden .. super quiet. Highly recommended and hidden treasure.

The 25hours Hotel Indre By has found its home in the middle of the Scandinavian metropolis. The 19th-century house once housed a porcelain factory and was later used as a university building. Art and knowledge find a new home in the hotel in an exciting combination. Centrally located between the Round Tower and the shopping street Kobmagergade, 243 rooms are waiting to be explored. The room categories range from small to gigantic and offer a suitable retreat for every traveler and their needs. Whether it’s the Vinyl Room or the Love Library, there are hidden places to explore throughout the hotel.

The spacious well-being area is located on the first floor of the hotel. Hotel guests can look forward to a fully equipped fitness room with the latest techno-gym equipment, yoga mats, and a view of the terrace. Guests can find deep relaxation in our outdoor sauna with indoor and outdoor loungers. If you arrive early and want to explore the city before checking in, you can use the power shower in the sauna area to freshen up for a tête-à-tête with Copenhagen.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Nörreport train station. The station is a hub for the metro, express trains, and buses. The airport can also be reached directly from here.

An urban bohemian hideaway in the heart of Copenhagen´s Montmartre area

Carlton 66 Guldsmeden opened in 2002 as the first of the Guldsmeden Hotels in Copenhagen, cementing their position as pioneers of the new Vesterbro! They´ve been through a number of renovations and expansions along the way, and the house now has a total of 74 lovely rooms, with the Carlton breakfast café and lounge at its very heart.

With Vesterbro´s gritty glamour and love of life just outside the door, the bigger, brighter, born-again 66 Guldsmeden is a warm and secluded haven, giving you exactly what you need for a perfect stay in Copenhagen.

There are so many great places in this neighborhood – a huge selection of restaurants & cafés, great shopping if you´re after something cool and unusual, art galleries and music venues, and lovely parks just a short walk away.

Don´t miss a quiet moment or two in the cozy lounge furniture on one of their lovely terraces surrounding the café, the Carlton Cantina. Bring your hot coffee or tea in the morning, or enjoy a drink in the evening – they have warm blankets and outdoor heating, so there´s always an opportunity for a breath of fresh air, even during the Danish winter.

Carlton’s Caravans – Situated in the cozy courtyard, these campers are the ideal choice for close friends and lovers looking for a luxurious yet untraditional environment and features a fully equipped bathroom as well as a tea/coffee kitchenette and mini-bar. Guests staying in a Carlton Caravan naturally have full access to the hotels´ services and amenities.

capture the feeling and the mood of the building’s history

Julie Q.: “Cute little boutique hotel in a great location near the station and Tivoli.”

Elizabeth F.:” I stayed at The Admiral – quiet and well located.”

Lesley T.:” The Admiral Hotel is excellent & very quiet in a central location. The Admiral is superb & very central, near the palace. It is my favorite hotel in the world”

This uniquely designed four-star Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is housed in a converted 18th-century warehouse neighboring the Royal Palace and the Royal Playhouse, close to the city center and the best shopping and cultural attractions.

The prizewinning establishment features a Conran-designed restaurant, SALT bar, and restaurant.

No two rooms in our Copenhagen design hotel are alike – each has been individually developed in close cooperation with a group of the best interior designers to reflect its own characteristic ambiance.

However, one feature is common to all of the rooms – they capture the feeling and the mood of the building’s history thanks to their characteristic beams, the aura of the city lights, and the ever-changing reflected light from the water.

From the hotel, you have superb views of the Opera House, the Royal Playhouse, and the charming inner harbor. The Royal Palace, Amalienborg, and the Amaliehaven gardens are less than a minute away while the Little Mermaid and the impressive Gefion Fountain are both just a short walk along the waterfront.

Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is recommended by National Geographic Traveller and by me;-)!

This hotel offers 366 rooms, all of which are unique and furnished with stylish Scandinavian design. The colors chosen for the rooms are a blend of outdoor and indoor, selected to give the rooms an inviting air. Skagerak designed the teak furniture and appointments, especially for the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel. The bedcovers create an atmosphere of homeliness and luxurious quality while the sofa and armchairs contribute to creating spaces within space, thus widening the room’s functionality. I can recommend the Double Deluxe or Double Deluxe Waterfront View room, but the Loft Deluxe and Tower Suite Waterfront view are magnificent in design and feel with their wooden beams.

Restaurant SALT, with Head Chef, Rasmus Møller Nielsen, shows magnificent strength in creating the common thread between tradition and innovation. The penetrating focus on the food as being modern Danish arose from his great engagement. When weather permits the Salt bar will be opened at the waterfront.

When booking directly with this hotel (which I always recommend you do), ask for a room where the airconditioning is installed already as they are in the progress of that for all rooms.
This hotel really needs you to stay more than one night as it would be a shame to only explore it for one night prior to your cruise….

They just don’t make them like this anymore

Martha S.: “In Copenhagen, we loved the Hotel D’Angelterre.”

Espen S.:  Stayed many times in Copenhagen, dangleterre is a very nice hotel but a bit pricy. Anyway, you should have lunch there, if you don’t want to stay there.”

Proof that there’s more to Copenhagen than mid-century furniture: there’s nothing remotely modernist about the Hotel d’Angleterre, a 250-year-old throwback on Kogens Nytorv, the city’s central plaza. It’s a relic of the days when grand hotels used to be called things like, well, the d’Angleterre — in fact with over 250 years in operation it’s one of the world’s oldest hotels.

They just don’t make them like this anymore, in marble, gold, velvet, and crystal. The rooms may look a bit delicate to a modern eye but it’s all part of the fantasy of the place. And while the vibe may still be winningly antique, the d’Angleterre has kept pace with the times — the rooms aren’t simply preserved, museum-style, but have been refurbished and renovated so that they look as fresh as they must have looked in the 18th century. They’re also fully wired, with all the latest communications and entertainment technology, plus in-room Nespresso machines, alongside low-tech luxuries like Duxiana mattresses.

The spa and fitness center are very much up to date as well, and the indoor pool is a rare treat in this town. The restaurant, Marchal, quite smartly dials down the gilt a bit, serving modern Nordic and French cuisine in a room that’s more like an old member’s club than a banquet hall. Meanwhile, Balthazar, the first champagne bar in Denmark, is a vision in Parisian black and white. And, if you’re here to do more than dine and drink, you’ll find the business services are very much up to snuff, perfectly suiting the high-powered execs who’ll stay nowhere else — right down to the Rolls-Royce limo service.

A HOTEL WITH UNDERSTATED ELEGANCE AND A SUPERB LOCATION AT NYHAVN IN COPENHAGEN

Maddy H.: “Stylish hotel in a fantastic location! Great location for a break in Copenhagen. The staff were very helpful and provided excellent recommendations. The design of the hotel is superb. The location is great for sightseeing, dining, and shopping. We enjoyed the views over the harbor and borrowed bicycles.”

Sandy Radican S.: ” 71 Nyhavn is lovely.”

If the walls could talk, they would tell you stories about hard-working seamen, clattering coins, and sacks of exotic spices. Even though the walls of this old warehouse cannot put the life of Nyhavn through two centuries in words, you still get an explicit feeling of the presence of history. As a guest at 71 Nyhavn Hotel, you can look forward to an exclusive hotel stay and wake up beneath grained beams of Pomeranian pinewood that runs, side by side, in their preserved buildings.

They accommodate 130 newly renovated rooms within three luxurious room categories that furthermore are placed in The Yellow Warehouse and The Red Warehouse. No matter what you choose, you get breakfast included with your stay.

3-stars with class

Tony O.: “Hotel Bethel. It was inexpensive but great. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. I was able to make a reservation that was outside of the online reservation system with just a few emails. We were able to book a corner room which was very large.

In the middle of Copenhagen, along the canal in the popular Nyhavn, you will find Hotel Bethel. The beautiful sailboats in the canal and the sidewalk restaurants on the opposite side create the cozy and unique atmosphere in which Hotel Bethel plays a big part.

Hotel Bethel welcomes you to a hotel with lovely rooms, decorated with a special sense of the building and it’s history. There are different rooms to choose from – all decorated in a cozy, Nordic design, with a historic touch. Simply choose the category that best suits your needs. All rooms are non-smoking, but we have a good outdoor smoking area, which you are always welcome to use.

Attractions such as Tivoli Gardens, The King’s Garden, and The Little Mermaid are within easy reach of the hotel. A few steps from the hotel is Amalienborg, the Royal Family’s residence, from which there is a view of the new beautiful Copenhagen Opera House.

So whether you’re planning a romantic weekend for two, a sightseeing trip, a family stay – or you’re a busy business traveler who wants to stay comfortably downtown- Hotel Bethel is the perfect place for you.

Centrally located in Copenhagen’s most historic and colorful street, Nyhavn, you will find Hotel Bethel. The house has existed since 1904, and with over 100 years of history, the hotel is a solid part of Nyhavn, its history, and not least- it’s future. Hotel Bethel, also known as the old Seamans Home, is today owned by a foundation, that operates as a non-profit business. Originally, the hotel housed exclusively traveling sailors, but today, it functions as a normal hotel and welcomes guests from all over the world. Over the last 10 years, the hotel has won various awards, including “Travelers Choice” on Tripadvisor, several years in a row.

The historic hotel consists of three buildings, each with its own history and appearance. The “main building”, the red building on the corner, the “yellow building” next door, and the old “warehouse” building in the backyard. Tucked between the buildings, as the only one in Denmark, you will find the hotel’s private Church. The hotel is definitely, not like everywhere else.

Stylish and characteristic hotel in the heart of Copenhagen

Pat H..: “The Square Hotel is great!!

Arlene Osorno D.; “We stayed at The Square Hotel located near Tivoli Gardens. Great location near plenty of restaurants. We loved it.”

Whether you are visiting New York or Copenhagen, you can be sure of two things: anything can happen, and anything can be done. This is precisely the reason why the two world cities have a wow effect – and a magnetic effect – on tourists across national borders and cultures. Of course, we are also fascinated by the energetic and impulsive big city life. Because in The Square there is room to loosen up, do ridiculous things, and get carried away. Not least when we celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and sporting events and support charities with events and theme days at the hotel.

They have the most fun when everyday life is spiced with a little color and playfulness – and they can feel that it spreads to they guests. So when you step into the lobby, you can meet everything from a balloon pool and rainbow cupcakes to a receptionist who has replaced the hotel uniform with a Halloween costume.

BOUTIQUE HOTELIN THE HEART OF COPENHAGEN

Rhonda D; “We stayed at the Hotel Skt. Annae in Copenhagen last month and absolutely loved it and the location was perfect. I would never have found it without the Facebook group Cruise Port Hotels and this website. Thank you Gert!”

Hotel SKT. Annæ has a perfect and central location in the pulsing heart of Copenhagen, near the cozy Nyhavn area (New Harbor). This water passage is from the 17th century and was an area where the sailors came to have fun. Today it is still a popular and lively area, where many small cafes and restaurants are placed side by side in the unique, picturesque, and colorful houses along the quayside.

The hotel has a lot of prominent neighbors. To name a few are the Royal Palace Amalienborg, the Royal Theater, the citadel of Frederiksstaden, and The Little Mermaid. Besides that, you will find yourself at the main shopping street, Strøget, only a hundred meters walk from the hotel’s doorstep.

From Kongens Nytorv the metro runs every other minute, and a lot of the central bus routes and bus stops are close by.

The hotel reception will always be at your service if you need help finding your way, or if you want more information on close-by attractions.

Since 2014 the hotel has been through a total renovation, where the Deluxe rooms were established. All Deluxe rooms are individually designed and decorated by SPACE Copenhagen.
In the rooms they kept the atmosphere and the historical feeling from the area, the hotel, and Copenhagen. In the choice of colors, they were inspired by the Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916). Hammershøi had a very rigorous color spectrum, where black, white, and brown shades were his preferred. His connection with Copenhagen was particularly strong since he was born here and lived his whole life in the city. He loved Copenhagen and he often used the town’s buildings, apartments, and monuments as inspiration and subject for his art.

This special connection to Copenhagen, his evocative paintings, and his way of portraying the city, is exactly what the designers have tried to grasp in the atmosphere and decoration of the hotel.

The bathrooms have been given a special focus and are completely renovated. All interior is carefully selected for its quality. The luxurious bathrooms are emphasized by unique handmade tiles from Italy and luminaries in fine brass and gold. Here you experience wellness, tranquility, and the complete detail.
If you would like a stay with luxury, style, and atmosphere, you should choose to book one of the rooms.
