our LXRY! hotel selection

We have some criteria before we can call a hotel a LXRY! Selection Hotel. We want to be surprised, we need luxury and hospitality at a high level, we love the quality of food and the rooms, we think the location is super important, and….we want to memorize the hotel for a lifetime! So you will not find basic chain hotels that look similar in all countries but truly found local gems that are different and memorable.

A serene setting in the heart of Douro Valley

A sense of history that’s still in the making. A setting of vine-covered rolling hills and the majestic River Douro. Come and stay in the world’s oldest demarcated wine region at a beautifully renovated 19th-century manor house with glorious gardens, woodlands, and sweeping panoramas. The town of Porto and charming heritage villages and other Portugal destinations are close by.

Located in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage-listed Douro Valley, Six Senses Douro Valley is touched with the romance of 19th-century architecture wedded to contemporary interiors reflecting the inimitable Six Senses style.

With the River The Douro winding its lazy way through the oldest wine-producing region in the world, this serene setting is 77,67 miles (125 kilometers) from Oporto International Airport.
The resort’s estate covers 19 acres (8 hectares) with 60 guest accommodations, the
Vale de Abraão restaurant with three different atmospheres: Open Kitchen, Terrace and Dining Room; a Wine Library featuring vintages from the valley and a stunning
Six Senses Spa occupying 23,700 square feet (2,200 square meters).

Positioned as the ultimate Douro wine and spa experience, the resort assumes its own regional identity. The stunning historic manor house is both contemporary and sophisticated.
It was originally converted to a hotel in 2007 and renovated to adopt technical and material innovations, then totally recreated, becoming Six Senses Douro Valley, together with faultless service based on thoughtful details and
little surprises.

Six Senses Douro Valley offers 60 guest accommodations, which range from Quinta Superior, Quinta Deluxe, and Quinta River rooms, to spacious suites. Completely
renovated, the décor is a triumph of combining Six Senses natural style with traditional highlights from a past era.

Portugal - Santa Cruz

A magical and romantic experience, for two

Shelter … Where Love meets Nature
Allow yourself time to feel everything, in every way. No barriers between you and the world. Tune in to the song of the ocean, feel the sand on your bare feet, breathe in the salty breeze and sprinkles of lavender from the garden, be dazzled by the green pine forest … Embark on this sensory journey, in a charming tent, where we switched off (almost) everything so that Nature is your only company.

Abrigo is a place to share authentic moments, disconnected from the outside world. Therefore, it does not have internet or air conditioning. As a way of being, we value, first of all, clean air and the essence of human relationships! Following our sustainability policy, we favor a differentiated air conditioning system. For the heating of domestic hot water, we use solar energy with the support of heat pumps. For heating the tent, we have a stove and a fan heater. For cooling, the same fan heater can be used, although we recommend using a more efficient system: opening the windows to let the Atlantic Ocean breeze in…

The Blue Superior Villas contain generously sized rooms, an outdoor pool, and a barbecue area. Inside there is a living room with a fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. Its maximum occupancy is 6 people (with the possibility of accommodating two more, in a room/cinema room).

Feel with us the pleasure of the simple things in life, as a couple or between family & friends.

An iconic escape on the edge of the Atlantic

Set in verdant gardens overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Belmond Reid’s Palace is the ultimate place to stretch out in the sun and relax.

Over the years this luxury hideaway has honed the art of pampering, earning a reputation as one of the best hotels in Funchal. Whatever your age or interest, there are activities both within the hotel’s estate and beyond to keep you on the go, all year round.

Staying here turns a trip to Madeira into an unforgettably unique escape. Here are just some of the features that make us stand out from the crowd.

Enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean while basking under the sun in one of our two luxurious, heated swimming pools (one seawater and one freshwater).

This hotel has an exclusive pool terrace, or you can wander down to the sea-level platform and jump straight into the azure ocean.

For those wondering where to stay in Madeira, this historic gem is the pick of the crop. Suites are named after George Bernard Shaw, who learned to tango here, and Winston Churchill, who came to write his memoirs. Step out onto your balcony or patio for an intimate dinner beneath indigo skies. Linger over lagoon views or vistas of Funchal harbor from sumptuous surrounds. Belmond Reid’s Palace is perfection in the Portuguese archipelago.
